Question by Canis Lupus: Why do the people doing commercials for lawyers have to say “I am a non-attorney spokesperson”?”?
Whenever I see a commercial for a lawyer or a legal firm, the person always says “I am a non-attorney spokesperson”. No other commercials say this…for example the lady that does the insurance commercials doesn’t say “I am not an insurance agent, I am just an actress that makes commercials”. It’s no secret that most companies don’t make their own commercials; they hire an advertising firm that in turn hires actors to do the commercials…so why do lawyers have to make this disclaimer?”
